CEI Works with The Federation of Canadian
Municipalities to Promote Green
Enabling Funds
Communities across Canada are looking for innovative
ways to reduce Green House Gas (GHG) emissions. That’s where
CEI comes in. CEI is helping them to define innovative projects
which will reduce GHG emissions and by doing so; qualify for the
Green Municipal Enabling Funds (GMEF). To do this, CEI works with
a community partner to define the project, assist with preparation
of the GMEF application process and conduct technology feasibility
studies.
CEI Extends Its Supply Chain Management Consulting
Efforts to China
Following an extensive tour of Chinese renewable
energy businesses and government organizations, CEI consultants
have enhanced their ability to solve client supply chain management
challenges. From its recent tour, CEI developed several trusted
supplier partners in China who are ready to provide manufacturing,
assembly and distribution services to companies that want to drive
down costs and/or expand their business globally. For more information
on CEI’s China connections, contact Christine
Qian (CEI Manager of Operations).
November 2004 CEI Puts Best Foot Forward in China
Through participation in the Mission to China, CEI continued to
support Canadian small and medium-sized companies by finding new
markets and facilitating new sustainable supplier and distributor
business partnerships.
China is Canada’s second largest trade partner
and so it is no surprise that Canadian companies, both large and
small, are considering entering this enormous and exciting market.
While large firms are more likely to have capital to overcome entry
barriers, small companies do not and must find creative ways to
deal with the costs and problems encountered when starting to do
business in China.
Is there help for these companies? Actually, many
organizations already publish articles that provide some understanding
of Chinese market principles. However, CEI is doing more than just
talk. In November 2004, CEI participated in a Mission to China,
organized by Trade Team Canada Environment (TTCE). During the mission,
CEI represented two Canadian solar companies, delivering presentations
and meeting with local companies. Much interest was generated and
on November 2nd, the China Daily reported on CEI’s activities.
In 2005, CEI plans on expanding its operations in China.
October 2004 CEI to Develop Strategic Plan for Glenergy Inc.
Glenergy is an Ontario company specializing in designing,
producing and retailing solar lighting and power systems. Glenergy
is in the process expanding globally and is working with CEI to
develop a strategy.
